RE: KCC Repositioning Update
We are pleased to announce that the KCC Independent Living Repositioning Master Plan project was kicked off in early January with the KCC Board Property Committee. As previously reported, we selected Lenhardt Rodgers Architecture + Interiors out of Fort Washington, PA, to partner with for this important project. Lenhardt Rodgers specializes in the field of senior living and has proven to thrive in collaborative, creative and challenging environments. We particularly like their team approach and emphasis on establishing trust and confidence with all stakeholders; KCC’s Board, Staff, and you, the residents.
For this project, they are teaming with RGS Associates for civil and landscape architectural services as well as Steven Winters Associates with a focus on sustainability. This team approach will provide KCC with the best of the best in these critical areas.
This project is focusing on the independent living areas of Kendal at Longwood and Crosslands campuses. A separate but coordinated plan will be developed for the Kendal Health Center renovation. In the coming weeks, you will see members of the team on our campuses not only for meetings but walking the site to review buildings and landscape. Feel free to talk to them if you see them around.
At the kickoff meeting, we had a detailed discussion about the entire planning process for each campus, focusing on where, in that process, current residents would have an opportunity to provide input and feedback. The attached Process and Schedule outlines the way forward; starting with the Forum/Dialogue meetings in February up until the presentation of the Final Master Plan. The orange boxes illustrate the areas residents will have to provide input and feedback. Please review the Process and Schedule and we will discuss more in detail at presentations in February.
These informational meetings with each community will not only allow residents to discuss the master planning process outlined in the attachment but will allow residents to meet some of the design team members. The meetings will be:
Tuesday, February 18 at 11:00am – Kendal Auditorium
Wednesday, February 19 at 11:00am – Crosslands William Penn Room
